3rd Annual KLSA Stressless Regatta

June 15, 2003


Event The 3rd Annual KLSA Stressless Regatta will commence with Race 1 at:
10:00 A.M. on Sunday, June 15th, 2003, at Kokanee Park Marine
,
and conclude with a post-race get-together (location TBA).
A Skipper’s Meeting will be held at
9:30 A.M. at the Marina parking lot.

Rules The Regatta will be governed by:
   The Racing Rules of Sailing
   The Stressless Regatta Sailing Instructions (provided at the Skipper’s Meeting)
   PHRF Handicap System (Cruisers) and Portsmouth Handicap System (Di
nghies)


Entries Division A: Cruisers
Division B: Dinghies
Note: Depending on the number of entries, the Race Committee reserves the right to start
and/or score both divisions together



Fees and Prizes The Stressless Regatta is intended to be a “fun” regatta for sailors of all levels and
skill. There is no entry fee and no prizes will be awarded. However, the Regatta
will be scored and each boat’s place will be announced at the end of the Regatta.


Scoring This year’s Stressless Regatta will consist of a number of practice starts and
short course races intended to give new racers an opportunity to gain as much
experience as possible.

Practice Starts will be scored according to the order in which boats cross the start line.

No handicaps will be used for Practice Starts.

Short Course races will be scored using the PHRF and PY handicap systems.
A complete explanation of scoring will be given at the Skipper’s Meeting.


Liability Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk (see rule 4 of
the Racing Rules of Sailing, “Decision to Race”).

The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or
personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or
after the Regatta.
